Formulating with Vitamin D:

Bringing Sunshine to Food!

Leonardo Mendez of BASF Human Nutrition and Pharma Solutions Group will talk to us about the importance of vitamin D and the tips and tricks of formulating with this very important, but very unstable vitamin.

Current methods of micro encapsulation allow for much better stability and fortification in many different products.

Leo is a senior technical service specialist for BASF Human Nutrition and Pharma Solutions Group. He has executed the role of product and quality management, and regulatory affairs, and is experienced in developing new and innovative products for the nutraceutical/dietary supplements industry. Aside from formulation and application

technology, Mendez has also lectured throughout the U.S., Canada and Latin America.

Also, we will be announcing the 3rd annual Walter Hopkins Memorial Scholarship Award winners! The 2 winners will be presented with their awards so please come and wish them well in their future careers and aspirations!

From East

Take route 80 west to 287 south (Morristown) continue on and take exit 37 (route 24 east), continue on and take exit 2A (Columbia Turnpike). Proceed through 5 traffic lights. The hotel is on the left hand side.

From North

Take 287 South to Exit 37 (Route 24 East). Take Route 24 East to Exit 2A (Columbia Turnpike). Come off the ramp and count 5 traffic lights. The hotel will be straight ahead on the left.

From West

Take Route 78 East to Route 287 North and take Exit 36A (Morris Avenue). Stay in the right lane and the road will bear to the right. Immediately after take the first left (Lindsay Avenue). The hotel is straight ahead on the left.

From South

Take 287 North to Exit 36A (Morris Avenue). Stay in the right lane and the road will bear to the right. Immediately after that take the first left (Lindsay Drive). The hotel is straight ahead on the left.
